How long does it last?
The results and longevity of the tattoo can vary depending on lifestyle, excessive sun exposure, specific skin care products and medications. This varies from person to person; everyone’s results are unique. Typically it can last anywhere from 1-2 years. Microblading does fade quicker than a Combo or a Ombre Powder brow and will require more frequent touch-up. Microblading is suited for clients with normal to dry, non textured skin and those with non sensitive skin. This service does not give off the “filed in makeup look”. We recommend a Combo or Ombre Powder brow for clients with sensitive, mature, textured or oily skin for longer lasting results. After your initial session, there is a mandatory 8-10 week perfecting touch up session to touch up any areas that may have not retained the pigment. Additional sessions may be required to achieve the desired results and color retention. Your artist will assess your pigment retention during your perfecting session and will touch up the brows accordingly. We recommend that you book your second touch up yearly.
Does it hurt?
Pain varies from person to person; unfortunately, there is no way for us to determine how you’ll respond. We use a medical grade topical anesthetic to make the procedure as comfortable and as pain free as possible. This will be used before and during the procedure to aid in pain relief (if any). Please note that opting NOT to get the anesthetic is also an option and can be discussed further at your appointment.
How long is the recovery or healing time?
Everyone heals differently, but it typically takes approximately 7-14 days. Your skin may appear a bit red after your procedure, but that should fade within a few days, depending on your sensitivity. For the first 2 days, your brows will appear darker, more defined and bolder in shape. On the 5th-7th day following your procedure your brows will flake and the color of the tattoo will appear as though it has disappeared. Don’t fret! The color will reappear as the skin regenerates and takes on new strength and the true color of the tattoo will be visible in the 6th week following the procedure. Your artist will send you home with the aftercare instructions. The instructions MUST be followed to ensure the best healed results.
How do you choose the shape?
At the beginning of your appointment, we will discuss what you want your new brows to look like (pictures help as references, so bring your brow inspo!). If the shape you desire does not fit your bone structure or face, your artist will create a brow design specific to your facial bone structure, and keep in mind your desired finished look. Your artist will take measurements to make the brows as symmetrical as possible and will position them appropriately. You get to approve the final shape and make any adjustments prior to moving forward.
What types of pigments do you use?
We use pigments which are made specifically for permanent cosmetics and microblading. All pigments are cruelty free and vegan.
How do you choose a color?
Your artist will share what color best suits you and you both will confirm it’s the best match for your skin tone, features, and personal preference prior to moving forward. We choose a color that matches your natural brow hair. If you tint your brows regularly you MUST tint them 3-5 days prior to your appointment. Also remember, while choosing your color it will fade about 20-30% following your first visit.
